Job Shadow by Jake

I job shadowed an engineer named Mike at The Dalles Dam. It was really fun to go and look at what he does. We went and looked at the turbines and we went to the top of the dam. I have wanted to become an engineer for a couple years and now I really want to. Job shadow is a great way to find out what a job is like. Now I really want to become a engineer.

Job Shadow: Job shadow is awesome. I had fun doing it. Job shadow is a good way to find out if you want to do that job that you job shadowed. I job shadowed a motorcycle mechanic. I have wanted to be a motorcycle mechanic for a few years now. After doing my job shadow I want to pursue being a motorcycle mechanic even more. When I was at my job shadow the people were really nice. They answered the questions I had and were very helpful. So if you think that job shadow is a waste of time you’re wrong. Job shadow opens doors to jobs you want.

Spirit Assembly -- September 30th

Tuesday, Sept 30th, the Leadership class partnered with the Staff of Glenwood School to promote school spirit and introduce the September student of the month. The assembly started out with a quick hello and welcome back from our ASB president, Neola Putnam. Jacob Keithly then introduced the fall sports, which include: MS Football, Baseball, Soccer, HS Football, MS Volleyball, and HS Volleyball. After Mr. Couch introduced the four students of the month, Brian Langfield-HS, Tiffany McCoy-MS, Reyanna Guzman-3-5, and Bella Couch-K-2, the real fun began. The Leadership class set up the doughnut bobbing [eating a doughnut tied to a string], the root beer chugging, and the life saver finding [finding a life saver in a pie tin full of whip cream] and called the teams up. K-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 grades made up the teams, respectively. Each team had three participants. Mr O gave the go, and we were off. The sophmores, Harvey Starr, Dustin Jones, and Mariah Smith, dominated all three catagories, and won for a grand total of 10 points. The freshmen came in second, with 7 points, and the seniors came in third for 5 points. A new student, Jeremy Moss, joined us for the spirit activities.
